Ange Tatt

PGA Professional

Angela Tatt is the Head Professional at Ballarat Golf Club and the heart behind the club’s hugely successful Beginner Women’s Golf Clinics.

For more than 10 years, Angela has helped hundreds of women discover golf in a way that feels welcoming, relaxed and genuinely fun.  Her clinics are designed for absolute beginners and returning players who want to learn without pressure, build confidence at their own pace, and enjoy the social side of the game just as much as the golf itself.

Angela understands how intimidating golf can feel at the start — because she’s experienced both sides of the game.

Growing up in Ballarat, Angela was a highly competitive golfer, representing at district and state levels and later competing professionally on the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour, including representing Australia at the 2022 Women’s PGA Cup.  While she achieved success, the demands of elite golf eventually took their toll.  Anxiety at the highest level led her to step away from competitive golf and, for a time, the industry altogether.

That break reshaped her relationship with the game.

When Angela returned, her focus shifted away from perfection and performance, and toward enjoyment, connection and wellbeing.  That philosophy now sits at the core of how she coaches.

“I know what it feels like to love the game, struggle with it, and then find joy in it again.  That’s why my clinics are about removing fear and pressure — golf should feel welcoming, not overwhelming.”

Angela spent seven years as Assistant Professional at Ballarat Golf Club before stepping into the Head Professional role in March 2023, becoming one of Australia’s newest female head professionals at a club with a proud history dating back to 1895.

Today, her women’s clinics are a genuine pathway into golf.  Many participants arrive having never held a club and go on to gain a handicap, play competitions and form lasting friendships.  Sessions are supportive, judgement-free and social, often finishing with wine and cheese or coffee and cake — because the conversations after the lesson matter just as much as the swing during it.

Angela is also open about the mental side of golf, using her own experiences to help women manage nerves, self-doubt and the fear of “not being good enough.”  Her message is simple: you don’t need to be “golfy” to belong

Above all, Angela is passionate about helping women start golf in a way that feels comfortable, empowering and fun — proving that when the environment is right, confidence grows naturally and people fall in love with the game for all the right reasons.
